Inaugural Procentia User Group Meeting a Great Success

On 23 October Procentia hosted its first ever User Group meeting at the Hilton Hotel in Bath. The majority of Procentia’s clients were represented and the feedback following the meeting has been very positive. Procentia representatives at the meeting emphasised the company’s commitment to making the User Group a success and to supporting future meetings.

The primary purpose of the inaugural meeting was to agree on the constitution of the User Group, its purpose and objectives. In addition, representatives from the company gave a number of insightful presentations about the company and the future direction of its products.

Steve Donkin, the company’s CEO opened the meeting with a presentation about the history of Procentia and where it is today as a business. He also made some announcements about the company website and a new online support desk system which will be launched early in 2013.

Ian Dowler, Procentia’s Chief Marketing Officer, gave a presentation on pension challenges and solutions, discussing the history of IT and its future in relation to pensions administration.

After a short break, a general discussion was held on the purpose of the User Group, its structure and how it should be run. It was unanimously agreed that having a user group and meeting regularly was a good idea and should continue. Attendees felt that the user group should be used for Procentia to communicate what the company is doing and the direction its products are being taken in, including information on new features and modules. It should be a platform for learning about the company’s products and would provide a forum for clients to guide and help Procentia in making decisions about its products and services. The attendees suggested that a meeting should take place annually and that early November would be the best time for it; avoiding the NAPF and Professional Pensions conferences. It was suggested however that the next meeting should be held in February 2013, as waiting until November would be too long.

After a convivial lunch, Trevor Scurr, Procentia’s Chief Technical Officer, gave a presentation on the company’s future development plans and the direction IntelliPen is heading in. This included information about the upcoming release of HMRC RTI (Real Time Information) functionality in IntelliPay.

The day was finished off with a Q&A session, allowing clients to ask a variety of questions of the Procentia directors who were present.
